Teens and Insurance
For teens, there is no such thing as cheap car insurance, but you can
make things easier.
Find crash-test results online at www.nhtsa.gov and
injury data at www.hldi.org.
Buying in cash means you don’t need collision coverage. Limit privileges
to one vehicle: if a teen drives two or more, the insurer will pin the
rate to the highest-value car. If that vehicle’s model has a low
injury and collision-damage record, it can reduce your premium by up
to 25%. In some states, a 3.0 GPA may reward you and your good student
with good premiums, so keep those grades up! |
